Closing the Gate

A spell inspired by Stranger Things, to close the gate on toxic and undesirable things. 

What you’ll need:

• A pumpkin (or gourd if they aren’t in season).
• A tea light.
• Paper and a pen.

What you’ll do:

1. Carve out enough of the pumpkin to fit the tea light into – leave the guts along the sides and bottom. 
2. Right down all the shit you want to get rid of, place the slips of paper into the pumpkin.
3. Light the tea light and place atop the papers (in the pumpkin).
4. Let the tea light burn for a while, gathering up the energy of the things you’re getting rid of.
5. Put the top of the pumpkin back on, smothering the flame. Leave it for a while, let the smoke build within it. 
6. Remove the tea light and smash that pumpkin to bits. 
7. Do what you please with the remains, and have a bitchin’ life away from that toxic shit.
