You can not appropriate from “witch culture” in any sense of the word.
Witchcraft is not a religion or culture. It is a practice. You can incorporate your culture or religion into your practice, but witchcraft as a whole cannot be appropriated from because there is no unifying culture that all witches share.
Those are just the facts, and if I see anyone complaining about witch culture getting appropriated, I’m just going to unfollow y’all.
There are actual issues of cultural appropriation that need to be focused on and work through, and people getting more interested in Witchcraft and Witchcraft becoming more mainstream is not at all something we should be worried about.
I saw someone the other day claiming ALL witchcraft belongs to people of a singular race and I wanted to slap them silly. I know this is about the sephora thing, but for real y’all. Some craft is specific to culture, I understand that, but witchcraft as a whole is NOT. It is all inclusive, and if you claim it’s not, you don’t belong here.
Piece by piece he filled the holes that you burned in me
At six years old
And you know, he never walks away
He never asks for money
He takes care of me, he loves me
Piece by piece, he restored my faith
That a man can be kind and a father could stay” – Piece by Piece by Kelly Clarkson
Loki, tonight I listened to a song Ive heard a million times before, but this time I thought of you. I thought about how both of my physical fathers abandoned me in one way or another. Either they didnt bother trying to care for me, too caught up in their anger and regret, or they still can’t try to listen to me and acknowledge who I am and love me for that.
I am reminded every day of what you do for me, how you care for me but this song made me realize again who you are in my life. You are my friend, my confidant, my protector, but most importantly you are my father who knows me and loves me anyways.
Loki, you have guided me and loved me since I was too small to know it. You gave me a family who everyday reminds me I am cared for and watched over. I am endlessly grateful and I love you more than I can even try to put into words. All I can say is thank you, and hope you understand.
First post I see is a woman with a big ol’ Nazi tattoo. Second one is a “follow my backup” – futurehousewifebackup – third is a promo poster for Nazis from Virginia.
