What is it: This is the celebration of the first harvest on the Wheel of the Year. The festivities are applicable to any type of craft that you practice, but has pagan/greek histories.
How you can participate in the celebration:
Bake🥖- To honor the harvested grain make or bake a meal and share with your loved ones. It doesn’t have to be bread it could be anything you enjoy or that makes you feel witchy
Devote your skillset🔮- Lughnasadh is the patron god of this celebration as well as the master of skills. Reflect on your natural talents today and put them to good use in your festivities
Decorate your altar🎃- Find some time to redecorate your altar (or general space for closeted witchlings). Some color correspondences with this holiday are orange, brown, red, green, and yellow. I personally LOVE redecorating my altar. Even the mundane actions make me feel witchy.
Spend time outside🌾- With winter and fall rapidly approaching today would be a wonderful time to soak up the sun while you can. Look for some flowers/rocks/sticks/other items for your new altar! Cast a spell! Or just enjoy that Vitamin D.
Post celebration
I will obviously be uploading my pictures and experiences from the holiday and I would LOVE to witness yours as well. I adore hearing magical encounters and experiences and today is buzzing with energy!
@mythonetwork:Â event 3: favorite locations:Â the nine worlds
There are nine worlds in Norse Mythology, they are called Asgard,
Alfheim,
Svartalfheim,
Midgard, Jotunheim, Vanaheim, Niflheim,
Muspelheim, Helheim. The nine worlds in Norse mythology are held in the branches and roots of the world tree Yggdrasil. These realms are the home of different kind of beings, like the home of the Gods and Goddesses or giants.
f you’re like me and eat a ludicrous amount of seaweed you have a bunch of these boys around: Â
These are silica packets. There basically very absorbent sand and if you live somewhere humid like I do they can be the handiest things ever. I collect fresh herbs and if you don’t get them all the way dry they will rot 😦 in their little jars.  Answer: air dry on the counter for a day or two and then drop in the packet. This also helps preserve the smell. These rose petals are nearly a month old but are still very pink and smell strongly of roses. The lavender was completely fresh going in with no trouble.
Lastly, I like using some of my paper supplies out in a field. Which is kinda bad for the paper… Luckily, you can slip one of these bad boy between the pages of a heavy book or into the card box and it will keep them from breaking down.
