Job Spell!

astralokean:

The basics of the spell I believe got me a job interview within 2 days:

Materials:

  • A favorite incense that helps you think of success or liveliness.
  • A representation for value/money. (gold, a favored crystal/stone, etc)
  • Fire and a place to burn a small paper.
  • Green ink or marker.
  • A candle for the deity or spirit you would like to ask for help from, or if you don’t work with any, pick a candle that is a color you feel appropriate. Suggested: green, gold/yellow.
  • A symbol (sigil etc) that indicates your goal, motivation, or direction you want in life.

1) Burn your incense. I chose a patchouli/forest incense. Patchouli attracts prosperity, and forests thrive and sustain themselves richly without interference, and are their own ecosystem. That’s how I want to be and what I want to accomplish. The incense had a green color so that helped also.

2) Take your object of value (I chose a piece of gold jewelry kept on my gods’ altar) and run it through the incense smoke while you begin to focus your intent. Enter a mild meditation or trance if you can, and begin to push the intent into the object. The purpose of this object is to keep it around your person as long as you feel it helps, to attract opportunity and to motivate.

3) When you feel ready, set the object aside or on your altar if you have one, then light your candle. If you work closely with a deity, ask if they would be willing to help your purpose with their energy.

4) Get a small strip of paper and your green marker. Write the symbol you’ve chosen on the paper, and if you have a preferred job, write the name of it on the other side of the paper. If you’re asking a deity’s help, the symbol should be of Theirs or something that indicates Their strengths. I used the Kenaz rune because it’s my favorite and I use it for a lottt of things.

Here is the chant to say while building and focusing intent as you write. If you have room on the paper without it being too big, write the chant down too.

Doors of success, open to me

I stand on my own and take what I see

Doors of success, open to me

Prosperity is mine, I blaze my way free

Light the paper on the fire in the candle, and let it burn in a safe location. Repeat the chant as much as you feel you want to while it burns. Envision the fire being fueled by the intent you put into the paper while you wrote. I prefer to do this spell in front of an open window–I feel it lets all the smoke from the incense and paper suck out, like releasing all your purpose out into the air to do its job. But that’s only important if you feel it is.

Put out your candle however you see fit, but let the incense burn out all the way. Keep the object of value (that you charged/enchanted for attracting your job, motivation, or money) either on your person or beside the candle you used.

Crown’s “Get the Fuck Out!” spell – Dead People Verison

thiscrookedcrown:

So you’ve some nasty creepers hanging around. A ghost is rattling their chain and banging on walls. What a rude fucker. What do you do?

  1. Summon your courage. Buck the fuck up. Look, ghosts are just dead people. They’re still fucking people. They might be assholes or they might be sweethearts. Don’t lump all ghosts together. I’m not saying don’t be scared because, fuck that, there’s invisible fucking people in your house. That’s nightmare fuel. But you can be scared and still be brave.
  2. Get pissed. No, really. Get fucking angry. This sort of behavior isn’t acceptable. Think of alllllllllll the reasons you want them gone. Channel your inner Hulk if you have to.
  3. Open ALL the doors and windows as much as you can. Make sure you can get to every single window and door in all the rooms plus the basement and attic if you have one. Even the closets, crawlspaces, cupboards, etc. ALL OF THEM.I’m not saying fling open that don’t and let Spot the Housecat get outside but even cracking it the tiniest bit will help. Clean the hallways and pathways as you’ll need to move as quickly as you can. Locking up said pets in their carriers, crate, cages, etc. during this is helpful too. You might want to chase out other people too. I find exorcising shit works best when I’m alone or with another woo~ person or two is helpful. You can get kids involved too, as I’ll explain in point 7.
  4. Give a warning. Tell those dead intruders to get the fuck out. Threaten their ass with an exorcism.
  5. Now get the chalk, salt, holy water, and rosemary herb stick. FYI, neither salt nor holy water works all the time but it works most of the time. For an herb stick get a bunch of rosemary and dry it together in a bundle. Ta-da. Pour some salt in your water to dissolve it. I find sticking the water in a squirt bottle or water gun works well. Figure out a system that works well so you can carry the herb stick, water, salt, and chalk. I find using a small salt pouch clipped to my pants by a carabiner works remarkably well.
  6. Prep your protection shit. Get that shit ready to go. I tend to use rosemary, salt water, salt, chalk, and bay. Whatever works for you. Put it all in the same room you start in if you can’t carry it with you.
  7. Chase it the fuck out. Yell and move as quickly as you can. Tell it to get the fuck out. It’s not welcome here and it needs to fucking go. Tell it all sorts of lies like if it comes back you’ll eat it or sic your familiars on it. IDK, just be as scary as possible. Start in the lowest portion of the house and work your way up. As you go, toss a light coating of salt at the windows, doors, closets, cupboards, etc. Spritz water in the same place as you’re throwing salt but also include the corners of the rooms and mirrors too. Slam door, window, cupboard, etc. shut. Now mark it with an ‘X’ in chalk. You could put a protection or banishing symbol up too. I just find the X easier. It should be clearly visible. If it isn’t, go back over it with the water. Do that with each and every room all the way up to the highest point of the house. It’s easier with more people and kids will have fun yelling at ghosts and throwing salt, squirting water, and slamming the windows and doors. If you’re lucky and have a third person available, they can come along behind you and lay on the protection right afterwards.
  8. Make your home a fortress. Lock that shit up. Coat the glass, mirrors, faucets, etc with protection oil or water. Was the floor in a protection floor was. Go ahead and wash the walls and doors too. As you clean and protect each room, feel free to wipe off any of those chalk ‘X’s you run across. Make sure you bolster those defenses every so often to keep shit out.

What was that? You want to be subtle about it? Fine. Steep rosemary in salt water for 10-15 minutes. Pour that in a drinking glass and open one single window or door. Now go from each room as subtly as you can in step seven. Skip the yelling but just dab or flick the water. Be sure to get all the windows, doors, mirrors, and corner.

If this sort of spell doesn’t work, you’ll need to step up your game and become a Ghostbuster.

(BTW, I know this isn’t the same as the “Living People Version” but they have the same name in my book.)

ADDENDUM: In reference to the word “holy” previously being crossed out, I have commentary on why it was. (TL;DR: It was in reference to the very many holy water recipes that summarily are not created with a divine in mind and I forgot to explain the slight.) I have since uncrossed the word holy in deference for divinely created holy water.

Excerpts Llewellyn’s 2013 Magical Almanac Article Ember Grant.

Okay this magic can be done with just about any type of string, twine, rope, or shoelace. Though this article is basically about the magic of Ribbons, which of course you can add by color association or images that are printed or sewn on the ribbon.

Binding

Items Needed:

Ribbon

Symbolic Representation

Traditionally done by wrapping or tying knots, it’s often done to stop someone or something from doing harm. However it can also be used to break a bad habit. For example: Use a black ribbon and a symbol that represents your bad habit. (Example used) A pack of cigarettes, wrap the black ribbon visualizing the habit being bound or trapped. Leave room on the ends to be able to tie three knots. Chant as you wrap:

I’d stop this habit if I could,

This is for my highest good.

Cease behavior causing harm,

With the bond I cast a charm.

Help me heal and make it last,

Guide me in this worthy task.

Braiding

Items Needed:

Ribbon

Braiding allows you to weave several elements of a spell together to create unity. For Example in a spell for prosperity, you could use three ribbons to represent success, prosperity, and good fortune. (yellow or gold, green, and purple) Typically this is done with three ribbons, but if you’re skilled in braiding, you can use more.

Another use for a braid is to create a bond between people.  Such as a handfasting ceremony. Use two white ribbons one for each person and a pink or red ribbon to represent love. Create a braid like this with your partner to strengthen your bonds of love and friendship. (Of course, remember to avoid forcing a bond.)

Here’s a chant you can use to create a love braid.

Over, under, through and through,

You for me and me for you.

Let us keep a bond that’s true

Love and peace between us two.

Breaking Unwanted Bonds

Breaking bonds are usually used for celebrating and dedicating new beginnings, groundbreakings and so on. A symbolic cutting is a good way to free yourself from difficult circumstances.

Here’s a breaking bonds spell you can use to adapt to your needs.

Things you Need:

Ribbon (Appropriate Color)

Black Candle

Scissors

Perform the spell that corresponds to your need, when the moon is waning. Select an appropriate moon if you desire. This is a spell for release. You may desire freedom from a particular attachment, broken heart or bad relationship, financial burdens, a job, or even a bad habit.

Tie the ends of the ribbon to form a circle. As you tie the knot, visualize this bond as the controlling force from which you wish to break free. Name the bond aloud by saying, “This ribbon represents _________.”

Next pick up the scissors imagine them as a sword you carry into battle. Pass them through the candle flame, envision the fire as your passion to be free, empowering the blades. Say the following:

As the moon wanes,

Release this bond.

As the candle expires,

Release this bond.

As I sever this tie

Release this bond.

I am free.

As you cut the ribbon into pieces, clearly visualize circumstances unfolding to set you free. See yourself being rid of this force outside of your control. After you cut the ribbon, bury the pieces into separate places. The earth will absorb and neutralize the unwanted energy. Alternatives you can burn the pieces of ribbon. Allow the candle to burn completely.

Bundling

Things you need:

Ribbon & Fabric (Appropriate color)

Stones,Herbs, and other objects.

Another way to use ribbon is to to make a bundle or sachet and ties the ends together. These bundles can contain herbs, stones, or other objects used as talismans and amulets. Use the appropriate color of fabric and ribbon, chanting as you wrap and tie with several knot:

Ribbon wind, tightly bind,

Wrap this spell that I design.

Other Uses

There are many other ways to get creative with your ribbon magic, you can wrap them around bundles of flowers or herbs, branches. Tying them around vases or tying them to wreathes. Use a ribbon to string a special pendant to wear, or wear them in your hair. Beyond the list of magical corresponds and seasonal colors. Some ribbons have been used to fight against different types of cancer, or to promote peace, pride, or other issues. Feel free to incorporate ribbons into your magic or charge a ribbon for a cause you believe in. Remember to use colors that have special meaning to you.

Happy Spell-Weaving!

subtle charm for your window

breelandwalker:

floweringhawthorn:

here-be-vultures:

i recently came up with an idea for a simple charm/spell that im gonna share here step for step. it can be used for any intention, and can be put on any glassy surface.

the two most important things youll need are window paint like this

youll need one for the outlines (i have a black one here) and for coloring the inside you can use as many colors as you want. these are usually available in any art supply store or even really basic stores for school and crafts supplies for children (i think theyre not more than 2$ per tube usually but not sure)

then youll also need a sheet protector (the things you use for keeping papers and documents and stuff) like this

apart from those two things, all you need is stuff to help charge your charm, what you use for that is completely up to you- it can be herbs, spices, rocks, feathers, tarot cards, literally anything that you can fit into the sheet protector works. just pick some things that you have available and correspond with your intended purpose and youll be fine.

so first what you need to do is decide what image you want to use. it can be any animal, plant, object, symbol, it can even depict a person or deity. you dont really need artistic skills for this as long as the image you pick isnt too complicated.

all you gotta do then is paint your chosen image on the sheet protector

since i am making my charm for protection and warding off evil spirits, and they are also my favorite plants, i decided to go with a cactus as my image.

heres what it looks like when the outlines are done

this will take approximately an hour or a little more to dry (as you can see i put a sheet of paper inside the sheet protector. thats because i drew the cactus on the paper first so all id have to do is trace the lines, to make it easier)

after an hour of drying you can fill in the colors as well

then it should look like this (or hopefully yours will be prettier and not as messy as mine lmao)

once youre done painting your image, you can take all your ingredients you wanna charge it with into the sheet protector (i already did that in the above image). i used various herbs and spices, a cactus needle, a rune stone, and i also wrote my intention on a piece of paper and folded it up and put it in as well.

the finished painting will take around 24 hours to completely dry. simply let it sit with all the ingredients inside like that, and let it charge.

once the whole thing is dry, you can just pull the picture off of the plastic (it shouldnt be hard to do but it can rip if youre forceful) and then stick it to a window, or any glassy surface (you dont need any glue or whatever, these colors are specifically made for sticking to glass by themselves once theyre dry)

there you go! a simple charm that you can put on any glassy surface.

what i specifically like about this is

– that it can be used by closeted witches as well since no one will be suspicious about it, and even if someone asks about it you can just say its for decorative purpose.

– that you can use any motive that fits your purpose, be it a plant, animal, person, deity, symbol, etc. if you dont have to hide your craft you can even just flat out use a sigil

– you can charge it with anything you like, so if youre naturally more drawn to herbs you can just use that, or if you feel more comfortable using rocks, use those. anything that works for you, and fits into the sheet protector, will do just fine.

– it can fit many different purposes, depending on what you charge it with. for windows id suggest things that deal with either protection and warding, or things like inviting spirits/friendly people/customers/etc into you home, for mirrors you could use them to boost confidence/beauty/etc, or for car windows (in places where they dont have any impact on your view of course) they can be charged with safety, protecting you from accidents, or helping with quick rides and avoiding getting stuck in traffic. basically, whatever you can come up with, and whatever resonates with you, you can use.

if anyone wants to do this for themselves and decides to share it on here, feel free to tag me in it! id love to see what you guys do with it, and what you come up with.

This is such a neat idea! I think I may do this in the new house and just make warding/protecting sigils on all of the windows.

I AM SO DOING THIS.

The “three-fold-law” is bullcrap and thats not what it means.

YES the title’s inflammatory and trust me this isnt a bash against wicca as a religion. Just Bear with me PLEASE

As much as ive been loving researching wicca (despite simply being a secular witch atm) i have a huge gripe with neo-wicca as it stands in relation to their thoughts on cause and effect.

The “law” started with one comment from Gerald Gardner’s novel, High Magic’s Aid,

“Mark well, when thou receivest good, so equally art bound to return good threefold.”

Which actually means the opposite of “the three fold law” its saying when you recieve good things you’re obligated to do good onto others and the world as an act of gratitude and appreciation for what you’ve recieved.

because of this misinterpretation a poem was published in a magazine back in 1975 entitled “the wiccan rede” which isn’t the rede btw, the rede is just “an it harm non do what ye will” which is meant as a guidance to help you think about your actions, not a law. Because of that one poem we’re here with the obviously incorrect notion that absolutely everything returns 3 times as bad which im sorry but look at the world we live in with horrid people getting the best and the 1% and good people in ditches. No.

The wiccan rede isnt a law and wiccan never had a Threefold law of return until it got to the public and everyone misinterpreted simple lines of wisdom and teaching as laws because they were so used to the bible and commandments.

Furthermore, elder wiccans realised presenting the rede as law would abate the fear of curses or evil from the uninitiated public.

This is a hot topic today, it must be in the air.

Wowza ya learn smth new everyday….

Minor add on is that the 70s was also a large time where hindu and Buddhist teachings were assimilated into “new age” leading many (mostly american) covens teaching about karma as it was fascinating and assumedly made sense to them.

I don’t bash the belief of karma though i dont hold it. Its simply the claim that its an old wiccan law as old as the rede. (Or even that the rede is a law)

I never believed in it anyway, it never made sense, but good to know it was never a thing in the first place.

Also the way Wiccans/Neo-Wiccans teach karma is not accurate. Karma (essentially) relates to how actions in this life will reflect how an individual is reincarnated. It is NOT a “what you put out in the world comes back to you”. Karma has nothing to do with THIS life.

For folks curious, here is an initiated Gardnerian’s opinion on the matter

From my own research, I have found only one non-modern text that talks about a “x fold law” (it refers to it as 12 fold). “Olde Traditional Crafte” is a translation of Dr Fian’s grimoire. It references that if you curse or betray another member of the coven (or the entire coven) that you will receive 12 fold back. Now, this isn’t because of some cosmic force, but because you cursed someone in your group and pissed off the other 12 members.
