Sigyn Blessing Oil

This recipe makes ½ oz. of oil.

  • Sandalwood oil – 80 drops
  • Iris (Florentine) oil – 50 drops (this is orris)
  • Rose Geranium – 40 drops
  • Yarrow oil – 25 drops
  • Neroli oil – 40 drops
  • Narcissus oil – 40 drops
  • 25 drops tuberose oil to enhance the narcissus.

Mix into a base of pure sweet almond oil and let sit for at least six days so the individual fragrances can properly blend together. 

(x) make sure you are not allergic to any of these ingredients before letting any come in contact with your skin (beyond a test amount).

Quick idea I had and need to note down before I forget it:

a witch bottle designed not to harm the incoming energies (like most witch bottles seem to be with their nails, thorns and black pepper) or block them (like the protective witch bottles I’ve seen with rosemary and basil), but filter and transmute.

Somebody throwing bad luck at you? Great, you’re giving me energy, I’ll filter it and change it into a blessing. 

“When life gives you lemons” sort of idea, inspired by a post I’ve seen floating around about that witches shouldn’t ground bad energy, but filter it and transmute it, because earth can only take so much negative.

You could crochet a net wrap around the bottle or paint a “net” around it.

Bury it in a pot of geraniums or add persimmon seeds, for change and transformation.

A sand trap works well like this to. I posted an adapted spell by Cunningham a while back like this.

The Serpent’s Lock

The seal of protection, privacy and invisibility – can be stamped or marked on documents to protect them from prying eyes, lest the witches’ venom befall them. Can also be used to hide oneself from that which walks on the astral plane. 

The Serpent’s Key

Used to see that which is hidden – aiding in the perception of the Unseen: be it spirits, deities, omens, etc. It might also be employed to find lost or hidden objects, and expose secret truths people are hiding. In addition, it can also be used to reverse the Serpent’s Lock if the key is added.

Desert Magic – Solar Cleansing Spell

Well, in some ways I suppose it doesn’t quite meet some folks’ opinions of a spell but hey.

What you need: 

  • A clear and sunny day (note: this spell is designed for those living in a desert. If you do not, a day with a high UV index will work. weather websites will tell you the UV index for your area for the day)
  • a place to lie or sit comfortably in the sunlight (be safe; wear sunscreen as this can take some time)

What you do:

Get yourself into a comfortable position lying down or sitting in the sunlight. Close your eyes and feel the sun’s intense energy on your skin.

The sun is harsh and anything blocking its light casts long and obvious shadows. Focus on the shadows within you if you know them, or just envision a tree made of shadow, roots reaching far down and branches tall, blocking the light and natural energy flow.

Focus on the overwhelming energy and light outside of your body and bring it inwards, watching it burn away the shadows leaving nothing but raw sunlight across a flat plane. Feel the heat of the sun on your skin burn away any shadows creating chains on you in this realm. Sit/lay there until you feel that any spiritual, emotional, and magical gunk has been burnt away.

Options/variations

This is easily modified to break any spells cast on you and to reveal hidden truths. It can also be modified to use for banishing where instead of focusing the energy to burn away things clinging to you, you direct the pure solar energy to burn away and destroy the thing you want banished.

For more intense cleansings I like to incorporate creosote aroma either by burning it or via oil aromas to help strengthen the initial cleanse

Going from being a Plains witch to living in a desert is so fucking weird.  The land feels different.  The spirits, wights, and landvættir feel different.  I feel disconnected from the earth but I’m trying.  It helps that we have a tree right outside the apartment, but it’s still all just really weird.  Things feel wilder here, cracked earth and fierce wind spirits.  This place has it’s own energy and magic and I am wholly not prepared for this shit yet.  Guess I need to go make some new wight friends.
