Me:  The gods gave us the breath of live, they are our eldest ancestors, we should talk to and about them with the utmost respect at all times.

Me @ my god:  You’re a creepy Blackbeard-lookin-ass Crypt-Keeper-lookin-ass motherfucker what the hell do you want now

Hi there! Was wondering if you would be interested in giving my witchcraft blog a little promo? I’m lokean as well, am starting to break into the online witchcraft community, and jumping back into witchcraft after a long break due to mental health issues. Can’t quite figure out where to start or pick up momentum though! I’ll DM you my introduction/promo post if you are willing to! I totally understand if not though; thank you for your consideration, blessed be!

Honestly I’ve only got like ten followers on starlingwitch compared to my main. I won’t mind doing the promo but I need to know more about you first since I’ve had folkish people try to do this before.

Effective Tarot Questions

rhiannonchristine:

Questions should be focused on yourself and your experience rather than someone else. For example the third question to follow is the most appropriate to ask rather than putting the focus on another person …

What is the reason behind Jamie’s bad grades at school?
How can I help Jamie get better grades at school?
What role do I play in Jamie getting bad grades at school?

Questions to Avoid

The Tarot cannot provide specific data such as dates or names. It is also unable to answer with a simple yes or no. So…

  • Avoid questions that ask for a time-related answer.
  • Avoid questions that require a name as their answer.
  • Avoid questions that would need a yes or no answer.
  • Avoid questions that require a choice between one thing and another. (In this instance it is better to gain more information in a reading and then for you to make this decision).

Effective Questions

Effective questions should be of a positive nature in order to attract constructive insight. Ask how to create something in your life rather than focusing on any negatives. They may begin something like this…

  • What is the energy surrounding …
  • What is the meaning / lesson of …
  • What is going on when …
  • What are the circumstances underlying …
  • What do I need to know about …
  • What do I need to know to decide on …
  • What do I need to understand / know about …
  • What do I need to know to get along better with …
  • What can I do to reconnect with …
  • How might I …
  • How can I resolve …
  • How can I advance …
  • How can I improve …
  • How can I improve my chances of …
  • How can I improve my relationship with …
  • How can I improve my ability to …
  • How can I make the transition from … to …
  • Can you help me find a way to …
  • Can you help me understand why …
  • Can you give me insight into …

Sif Devotional Tips

thewitchofthenorse:

Sif; wife of Thor, patron deity of the sexually abused, goddess of harvest, fidelity, wedlock, communication, and hallowing. These are ways I personally honor Sif and my personal associations with offerings. If you have something negative to say keep it to yourself, these are personal and work for me.

  • Be humble and kind.
  • Take confidence in your beautiful hair! Cut, dye, do whatever you need too to love it.
  • Drink teas like pomegranate, hibiscus, rose, or raspberry for her.
  • Avoid gossiping and spreading rumors in honor of her peacefulness.
  • Leave offerings of wheat, rice, baked goods, apples, peaches, strawberries, nutella, chestnuts, or hazelnuts.
  • Do your best not to perpetuate rape culture and call out those who do.
  • Use the runes Berkanan, Gebo, Jera, and Wunjo in your altar or worship.
  • Work on identifying and appreciating in yourself the things that make you beautiful, both inside and outside.
  • Decorate your home in golds, greens, images of the earth, looms, woven goods, or mirrors.
  • Listen to music that reminds you of her I’ve noticed she enjoys Laura Marling and anything that makes me feel good about myself.
  • Grow birch, chamomile, fir, hawthorn, mugwort, hibiscus, rose, lavender, jasmine, or willow in your garden.
  • Leave her offerings during the harvest season, that’s also the best time to start working with her!

  • Keep an updated list of registered sex offenders in your area.
  • Light candles or incense of floral scents or sweet scents, I’ve noticed she’s found of jasmine, cherry blossom, and strawberry.
  • Engage in mindful self-care, both for one’s physical bodies and one’s heart and mind, to access her in this capacity.

  • Dedicate the act of braiding your hair to her.
  • Use the crystals lepidocrocite, rose quartz, sunstone, charoite, or goldstone in your altar or craft.

If you’re like me and want to do a daily tarot card pull for insight or general meditation, but you also suck at remembering to actually do that, the Galaxy Tarot app gives a daily notification with a card and interpretation.

Even if you’re not into using apps for actual divination, it still gives you a random card to meditate on for the day.
