Would you consider it ‘non-witch’ to vaccinate your children? I’m a Celtic Pagan and when I tell other people that I support vaccinations, I’m chastised for it and told that witches don’t believe in vaccination. It’s caused some trouble in me. I completely believe in science and that in no way affects my practice, but it makes me worry that I’m upsetting the gods by doing so. Can you offer any advice?

Omfg. Vaccinate your fucking children, no matter what some fucking yahoo tells you. If they’re not a liscened pediatrician and or virologist, they shouldn’t pretend to be an expert. For fucks sake.

unto you I sing, foremothers

slavicafire:

unto you I sing, foremothers,

a song of praise and gratitude:

those whose suffering allowed me to exist,

those whose love gave me life.

(those who had to live in silence, longing swallowed by obedience,

tender hands weaving away their loneliness and fear;

and those who rejoiced by the hearth, who filled their houses with motherly hope,

their aching back and voices carrying lullabies)

(those who had to endure sleepless nights and bloodied thighs,

survive shame and pain, hunger and cold, banished and forgotten;

and those who fought, who screamed and cut,

those who were victorious and those who lost)

grandmothers, and mothers, and sisters,

those whose lives were long

and those who died younger than I am now:

may your wisdom and unyielding light guide me through my life,

through joys and hardships, through love and through grief,

so that once my time comes

to let my body rest under the willows,

I know I left this world a better place

for all the daughters to come.

Finding comfort in what brings you fear, that is where I see Loki.

Facing things that bring back terrible memories, but feeling them wash off you with the rain of the terrible storm whose thunder makes you shake.

Every time it happens, you’re a wreak. You’re exhausted, but you’re able to breathe a little easier next time you hear thunder in the distance or see the flash of lightening.
