With the holiday season coming up and hours getting increased at work + seasonal jobs opening up, as well as companies screaming at you constantly āBUY, BUY, BUY!ā, this is the time of year I feel most inclined to spend. We may even feel inclined to buy the most extravagant presents for our loved ones when we know we canāt afford it. Or maybe you just have a chronic reckless spending problem, and you need to stop buying for now and save for the future. This spell will bind you from reckless spending so you wonāt feel caught up in the materialism that is the Christmas season. āØ
Moon phase;
preferably a new moon, but you can perform this on any night of the waning cycle (Iām performing mine this upcoming new moon on November 7).
Materials;
1 blue candle for willpower, patience, and focus.
1 piece of green aventurine (or any crystal that represents money for you)
1 receipt from something you bought but didnāt need (I had a few in the bottom of my purse, but if you canāt find any, you could even print out your bank statement, cut out a transaction of something you didnāt need, & wrap it in that)
1 black ribbon
Incantation;
āMy need to recklessly spend money is tightly bound
And I bury those urges deep into the ground.
I want and am able to save money.
I am financially responsible so my future can be comfy.
This is my will, so mote it be.ā
Directions;
As you say the incantation, wrap the crystal in the receipt and then bind it together with the black ribbon. When finished, circle it around the flame of the candle counter clockwise before blowing it out. Then bury it outside so you will never see it again.
If you have a furry pet, get some of their fur (or feathers) for this spell. You can just use a drawing with their name on it if itās the kind of pet where this wouldnāt work, like a frog.
Light the candle, and fill the little dish with some dried rosemary. Take the item you are using to represent your pet and wave it gently through the smoke (not the flame). Say the following out loud:
āBless our pet, he is part of our home
Bless our pet, he is not alone
Bless our pet, keep him well
Bless our pet, with this spellā
Leave the fur or drawing in the dish with the rosemary on your altar while the candle burns down all the way. After that, tuck the object you used away in a safe place.
I have a feeling Iāve done one of these before⦠But there has been a request for a new compilation of spells to keep one safe from harm. And since God knows that no matter how hard I tag it, my stuff is never really organized⦠Have a new list.
(This is the process that works for me, practices and traditions vary)
1: Save old eggshells.
In this batch I used approximately 10 eggs.
If you choose, use a number of eggs which could be magically or energetically significant.
Wash eggshells in hot water and set aside to dry. Some people will take the extra step to peel the inner membrane off in order to get a finer powered, but I didnāt mind if it was chunkier.
2: Bake eggshells for 10 min at 250 degrees.
Watch them closely, donāt let them burn! Allow time to cool.
3: To pulverize the shells:
A clean coffee/herb grinder will work, but I prefer my pestle and mortar in order to work my intentions in kinetically.
-I do a lot of spirit work so I also added protective/purifying herbs including himalayan salt, pepper, red pepper, and angelica root.
As I set my intentions during grinding, I left a ādoorā for the specific spirits which are my primary contacts so as not to inadvertently wall them out.
4: Transfer powder to clean, air tight storage.
– Use a small funnel and a reused salt or small herb jar and gently transfer powder. Pour in batches in order not to accidentally over spill. I made more powder then this jar could hold so I ended up transferring to a larger one.
5: Use
After smoke and bell cleansing the house,
I sprinkled the powder around the perimeter of the property and along all door and windowsills.
There ya have it!
Layer your protections with other techniques such as sigils, energy shields, salt rings or protective entities and enjoy an energetically safe home!
I just made some offering boxes to put into the wickercreature at Castlefest, so I wanted to share some ideas! I had this idea for a while and finally found some time and energy to make some.
What you need:
š„ Pretty patterned paper (I got some paper blocks from the dollar store)
š„ Spell ingredients/Offerings (anything goes as long as it burns)
Find a favourite tutorial for an origami box online. I used this one. And fold your pretty papers into a box. If you want, decorate the box a bit more. I made three: one for the Goddess Baduhenna, one for Nehalennia and one for the Horned God. I designed bindrunes for them and put them on the bottom of the boxes.
I got some fresh flowers from my garden and wrote down some poems (and made my own) to dedicate to the Gods. Then I added some herbs, lots of Marjoram as a taglock (my name means Marjoram) and even a bit of my favourite perfume. I wanted to make it as personal as possible.
Now simply close them and tie them shut. I used wool in the colours that matched the deities Iām making them for. I also tied some pretty flower to the top!
And there it is! Now my boxes are ready to be sacrificed! Of course you can substitute any offerings by spell ingredients to make it into a spellbox! Have fun, and as always, feel free to tag me when you make these! š
Great idea! If you use the right kind of paper and string, these would even be biodegradable for burying.
So I took my own idea and tried out an acorn charm! Iām an empath, so I made this one to help me stay grounded when surrounded by people!!
Ingredients:
(1) acorn, any size – associated with success, luck, and wishes.
(1) drill with a small bit.
(1) Xacto knife.
Assorted gem chips and herbs associated with your intent – I used amethyst, tigerās eye, quartz, citrine, and carnelian for gems; marjoram, mint leaf, and lemon grass for herb.
Glue.
Prep: Gently remove the cap from the acorn. Using a drill or knife, carefully hollow out the center of the acorn, aka the nut. Use an xacto knife or similar to scoop out the rest of the nut (as a discord friend informed me, this part of the acorn is soft and will rot over time, so make sure you get all of it!!!).
Stuff your now hollow acorn with your herb and gem chips while focusing on your intent. Allow the energy to flow for as long as you feel necessary. Apply your glue to the inside of the acornās cap and press it gently back onto the top. Imagine it āsealingā your intent inside. Leave the glue to dry.
Casting: Once dry, charge or activate the charm as you normally would. Done!
Iām excited to try out these charms this fall!!! In theory, they should be easy to make, concealable in travel alters, bags, pockets, or worn as jewelry, and safe to dispose of if you like to bury your charms in nature.
Feel free to use and let me know if they work out for you!!
From simple love spells to glamours and hexes, wax seal charms are a powerful and versatile tool for any witchās arsenal. Small, inconspicuous, and easy to hide, these simple charms are useful for nearly any type of magick.
First, you will need a smooth work surface (I used the bottom of a ceramic bowl). Fold a small envelope from a square of paper. You want the envelope to be the same size as or smaller than the wax seal to ensure complete wax coverage.
Next, write your intent (or draw a sigil) on the inside of the envelope. Keep it simple or write very small.
You can add a small pinch of herbs (or a taglock) if you like, but try not to use too much or the charm wonāt flatten and may not seal correctly.
Once youāve added your herbs, fold the envelope shut. You may need to squish it a little to keep it closed.
Pour your wax over the envelope, making sure to cover any open edges, and place your stamp in the molten wax. Apply light pressure for a few moments and then allow to cool.
Once completely cool, remove your stamp and peel the charm off your work surface.
And voila! A small, portable charm that can easily be slipped into a purse or wallet unnoticed.
